Getting Ready for Ho Ho Ho

Several years ago I made myself a Christmas book using a composition book and I had decorated it with fun Christmas papers and tags. I have enjoyed using it each year to help me remember who I sent cards to along with any ideas that pop in my head. I had this book for a very several years and the outside was looking very out dated and worn but the inside was still in great shape.

I had purchased a new pad of Christmas card stock that had some stickers and punch outs and thought it would be fun to redo my book. I love how it turned out and now I just need to use it again.

I am not sure what is going on this year but I have not even wanted to create my Christmas cards to send out to my family and friends. I guess that the holiday’s have come just a little too soon my me. I have been doing real well with the dieting and I have also not been playing on Facebook as much, maybe I can start working on those Christmas cards without any excuses.

I did not realize that it has been since May that I posted last…how time fly’s. Since then we have had several things happen, one of which is having our 3 grand children live with us full time especially when there are 1 six year old and 2 five year old very hyper sweeties. I have also had some health issues come up with my heart. I have lost 20 pounds in the last month and have found a renewed way of thinking of my life and what is important in it. I hope now that I am feeling better that I can have the energy to start creating once more. I will be posting more on my blog about my health, family and friends along with the fun things I hope to create. Thank you for all your love and support.

Pretty and Purple

I created this card several weeks ago but have not had time to post it. I bought the Build a Blossom punch and stamp set from Stampin Up back in March but had not had very much time to play with it and to play with my new Martha Stewart punch I got with some birthday money and decided to put them all together. Instead of using the stamp set I embossed the flowers and leaves with my Textile embossing folder then I punched the flower petals and shaded them before putting the flower together. I love the look of the flower with the Lattice piece at the bottom of the card. I added some shine by spraying it with Smooch Vanilla Spritz. I am so glad to have the opportunity to create utilizing all of the great products that have been made to make it easier for me to create something that is beautiful. I hope all is well with you and that today is a great day!

A Fun Thank You

I sold one of my stamp set and I thought it would be fun to make a Thank You card to put into the package before I sent the set off to it’s new owner. It also gave me an excuse to use my new Blossom Punch that I got from Stampin Up. I tried for several weeks to decide what punch I wanted and finally decided on that one. I am now glad I did get it because of how versatile it is. I also bought the stamp set that goes with it but I have not had a chance to play with it. Lots of Color and Fun

I was watching a video last week that was made by Kristina Werner who is a very creative online friend. I was watching her Finally Friday video and I thought I would follow her card only I did it Vertically. I wanted to make a card using my butterfly stamps and my Copic markers and then I used some Sparkles on the wings. I was really excited to see how well it turned out and how easy it was and I again did not need to purchase anything to do it. I really enjoy watching videos and all the tutorials that are everywhere on the Web. It has helped me to be more creative and increases my ability to also help others. I have a friend that has been making cards with me for several years now but does not have the internet to learn from so when we get together I have been able to help her to learn from what I have learned from all of you. Thanks to you for your help…

I Love To Learn

A couple of weeks ago my son Brock spent the weekend reformatting both my husband and my computers and of course he had to put all the programs that we had been using back on the computers – poor guy!

Anyway I could not find my image program to fix my pictures so he gave me a different type of image program and of course I do not know how to use it yet, but what else is new…lol. I wanted to post today so until I am able to learn how to use the new program I am not going to have any type of boarder or that it is designed by me.

Anyway, I did learn something new last week while watching the Splitcoast stampers tutorials using the Nestabilities dies. I loved how it showed that you can make a frame by using two dies at the same time and then I also used the inside piece to do some shading around it before stamping. I put some Stampin Up Dimensionals around the frame to give it some dimension. I also used a swiss dot embossing folder for the background. I love how it turned out and I definitely will do this type of frame again. I always love to learn new ways to use the products that I have purchased. I hope you have a great day and hopefully I will be getting more cards done sooner.

Simply Simple

So I decided I wanted to make a card but I have been having a problem with my elbow since I fell on it a month ago. I thought it would be time to use my new Cuttle Bug Stylized Flower embossing folder that I bought back in December with my Christmas money. I also bought a new boarder punch and had not used that as well and I liked how my card turned out. I also sprayed the card with the white smooch spritz that I also bought. It is sad that it is the end of February and I am just now using my Christmas toys. I also used my newly acquired butterfly stamps and colored it in with Copic markers. Needless to say I did have fun and it was worth all the pain I am in now. I Thank you for looking and hope you come back soon.

Happy Valentines Day

Happy Valentines Day… Ok I am a little bit ahead of Valentines Day but that is why I am so excited.

I actually have put together some Valentine goodies for my children and my grandchildren and I was not rushed to do them. I am stuck on making these cute boxes and filling them up with candy to hand out on Valentines Day. I just used white card stock and then I used my Stampin Up’s Beyond the Basic heart stamps and embossed them with Moon Glow Two-Toned Embossing powder which was Razzleberry Plum, I love the way the colors change when heated. I am not sure where I got the ribbon but I do love being able to use what I have on hand.

I also have been laying low on creating because I fell about several weeks ago and messed up my right elbow. The doctor said it was not broken..Yahoo but it did cause me to have something called Tennis Elbow. I am right handed and every time I used my hand it would cause me pain from my fingers to my shoulder. I finally got a Elbow Strap and I am feeling much better.

Ok enough about me, I really hope everyone has a Wonderful Valentines Day.
