The Open Sea

I decided that I wanted to make more of a masculine card this week mainly because I do not have very many of them.  I love the Open Sea stamp set from Stampin Up.

I looked at my stash of paper and came across some blue paper that would go well with the creamy background.

I wanted to have the ship really look like it was out on the sea.  I made some very small cloud templates to make the clouds stand out.

I also added some texture to the front of the card this Carrick Bend Knot that I learned how to make.   The link to the blog for this and many more knots is here.  I wanted to thank you for coming by and for encouraging me to step out of my comfort zone.

The supplies I used:

The Open Sea stamp set from Stampin Up

Stampin Up Dimensionals

Beige card stock for the base  and the blue check designer paper(I have had it forever)

Hemp cording from Natural Polished Hemp that I purchased at Walmart

Designer paper from Colorbok Natural Expressions

Adirondack Dimensional Pearls Denim

Having fun with my Toys

So a couple of weeks ago I ran across a video from Deb Valdor.  She had a wonderful tutorial using the Envelope Punch Board to make a really cute bow.  I decided to give it a try to this is what I came up with.  I did not realize that the bow had stripes in it until now…he he any way I had fun doing it.  If you would like to watch Deb’s tutorial you can see it here.  I also wanted to do the inside of my card using some of the same paper as the outside.  I also made the envelope to complete it.  I have been purchasing 8×8 paper stacks so that I can make matching envelopes they are the perfect size for your A2 card size.

Thanks for checking in, Dahlene
