A New Year and Another Mojo Monday #172

I have been looking forward to creating new cards and as I was thinking of what and how I wanted to do it I found that I could not do the placements just right.  I decided that I needed some help with this and looked at the Mojo Monday # 172 sketch challenge and decided to give it a try.  I was able to use my newest Spellbinders scallop circle die and was trying to figure out how to add the background to make it stand out.  I then cut both the white and blue card stock and glued them together and I liked the effect it made.  I used Stampin Up’s Fun and Fast Notes for the birthday greeting and cake.  I like to use what I have on hand as much a possible (because I can justify the cost to make cards) and thought I would make my son a Birthday card for him as he turned 30 today but just one problem… I realized the light blue paper was a little bit too feminine for him so I gave him one that I had already made.  Happy Birthday Brad!  Love you

Something New Again

cards-001Today when I was checking out my favorite blogs  I came across Dawn’s fun Shadow Box Card here. I have seen these before but have not tried it until today.  My card was very simple but cute up close, I did have fun making something new again.  The majority of the time when my grandchildren are here they like to sit on my lap or they want to do what I am doing so I have to wait until they are in bed before I can create, by that time I am exhausted and just want to go to bed for the night.

Thanks I Needed That

Hi everyone!  I did not realize the pressure I was putting on myself trying to keep up with all of the fun bloggers out there.  I was not able to work on my computer until yesterday because I put my back out and have been having a lot of Vertigo attacks.  I am doing much better now Yahoo!  This week I decided to make a thank you card using the WSC52 challenge.  I love the colors and how they turned out together.  See you again next week and Thanks for looking.

I used all Stampin Up products for this card.  I used: Pretty Petals, Fun and Fast Notes, & Boho Background stamp sets, Whisper White, Bashful Blue, Always Artichoke, & Not Quite Navy CS. Clear embossing powder, Always Artichoke & Not Quite Navy, Versamark ink. White Signo pen, White Grosgrain Ribbon, Mat Pack, Crytal Effects, 1 3/8″ circle punch and Scallop punch.

I was casing the other blogs and came across a Z card on Dawns Blog, I had never seen a Z card before and you know me I love to learn new ways to make cards.  I have a couple of Birthday’s coming up this month and thought it would be fun to make a couple of them.

Hey Birdie, Birdie

hey birdieBoy was it a long hard weekend with 3 very sick grandchildren wanting me to hold them. I am so glad they are feeling better. Back to the card, I finally learned how to make a waterfall card thanks to Dawn Griffith. I love watching her videos because she makes them very clear instructions. I decided to use my new Fun & Fast Notes Bird which fit perfectly. I have wanted to use this new to me set and I love it. I added some words under each bird so you can see the different words as you pull  the tab. I  would like to thank all those wonderful Bloggers that have been giving me advice and support.
